In partnership with Aviva, Land Based Underwriters offers 3 levels of cover. The policies have been designed with smallholders and small farms in mind, for land from 1 to 100 acres and a maximum income generated from the land of £50,000 per annum. Anywhere in the UK, our insurance for small farms can provide your clients with essential protection, all under the prestigious name of Aviva Insurance Ltd.
What Do We Cover?
At Land-Based Underwriters, we understand that finding the right policy for your clients can be hard. Our small farm insurance policies cover more than you might think, with premiums starting at just £439.00. Cover includes:
- Farm Buildings used for farming and housing livestock purposes
- Glasshouses
- Machinery and tools
- Deadstock and produce (including seed, feed, fertiliser, hay, straw etc)
- Diesel
- Livestock including fatal injury off the premises, transit and dog worrying
- Working dogs
- Employers Liability
- Public Liability £5,000,000 including attendance at shows
- Product Liability £5,000,000
- Environmental Liability £1,000,000
Optional covers include:
- Home buildings
- Home contents
- Commercial Legal Expenses
The policy will cover the following activities and use of land:
- Arable, hay, straw, cereal, and other crop farming
- Livestock farming and ownership (excludes llama & alpaca)
- Animal husbandry
- Farmer markets
- B&B accommodation for up to 6 guests
- Caravan or tenting accommodation
- DIY livery stables for up to 4 animals
- Paying wages not exceeding £5,000
- With farm buildings used for farming purposes
- Often including adjacent living quarters for the smallholder
